Grade F22 is a low alloy steel containing nominally 2.25% chromium. The alloy is widely used in the oil patch wellhead applications for connectors, hangers and block valves. Hardness levels up to 22 HRC are approved to NACE MR0175.
The grade is often used as the base metal for clad components. With targeted cast analysis and Howco’s heat treatment control, properties of 75 KSI yield strength can be achieved in the post-weld condition for large section components.
